Sharing the love of Jesus with the community we serve

At St. James’, we feel strongly that the church community should not stand on its own but should reach out to other communities. The PCC has decided to adopt two charities to support, one locally and one in another country. The Morning Star charity in South Africa works with under-privileged children with HIV/AIDS. Their work is carried out in very difficult circumstances, both socially and politically. We receive newsletters from them to let us know how they’re doing. The latest one can be viewed by clicking the button below. Joan Adams, who runs the charity, and Glenys Barham from the UK have visited us at St. James’ several times.
We have also sent a donation to ‘Hands at Work’, a charity which works in some of the poorest parts of Africa.
Our domestic charity is the Rugeley Foyer at Aelfgar House; the YMCA in Rugeley. We regularly collect and donate items which are most needed by the young people. All donations such as bed linen, dried food, kitchen utensils are very gratefully received. There is a box at the back of church for items intended for Aelfgar House.
