St. James the Great
Church of England
Prayers

There is a board in church where prayers may be requested for those who are ill or troubled. These people are prayed for every week as part of our intercessions, but please continue to pray for all those who are ill, and those for whom our prayers have been asked.

Lord Jesus, we pray for all those who are sick in body, mind or spirit.
All in hospital or being cared for at home;
all who are anxious or despairing and all those fighting addictions.
Lord, give them strength to cope,
and in their suffering, let them see your love.

We pray for those people named on our pew sheet,
and on the prayer board in church.
We also pray for all those recently departed this life,
for their families, friends and colleagues.
Amen.

Whether or not you are confirmed in the Church of England faith, all are very welcome to attend these services.

There is a mid-week Communion service at 10.00am on Wednesdays except for the fourth in the month during term time when the St. James’ school have a service.

Messy Church is a different kind of service for the younger generation. Take a look at the Messy Church page by clicking on the ‘splat’, then come along and give it a try.

First Sundays in the Month

First Sundays see a service called ‘Celebration Praise’ at the usual 11.00am time. There is no Communion and has songs and easily accessible words and we hope that it will appeal to younger families, especially those with young children.
